Individual will be able submit their annual SARS income tax returns for 2022 as from 1 July 2022.
The SARS filing season will open on 1 July 2022 and the closing date is 24 October 2022 or 23 January 2023 for provisional taxpayers.
In order to submit the SARS ITR12 for 2022, a taxpayer must have the following documents ready :-
IRP5 or IT3(a)
IT3(b) or IT3(c)
Medical aid scheme tax certificates
Retirement Annuity Fund tax certificates
Income Protection certificates
Medical aid receipts in respect of qualifying medical expenses.
Qualifying Physical Impairment Expenditures
Travel logbook
Travel costs claimed.
Self employed individuals are required prepare the Annual Financial Statements or Income and Expenditures.
